Hide Data label in Excel Chart

I am trying to create a chart in excel for one of my managers and I want to have the formulas pre-populated for the chart.

I am having trouble displaying the data labels on the chart. Future quarters (because there are formulas in the corresponding cells, not blanks), show a data label on the chart (either (-) or (#N/A) depending on my formula)

Is there a way to hide this without adding the data labels one at a time (which I don't want my manager to have to do)?

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
