I want to calculate financial plans based on many different scenarios. For input and output I want to use excel. I want to the actual calculation on line which gives me the opportunity to make changes to it without distribution of a new excel file every time. I want to place some specific calculation behind a pay wall.
The input will be a xml file based on one or two worksheets. The output xml will be used to fill several new worksheets and possibly adjust some existing worksheets.
Do far my plans. I don't know what will be the best approach. I read about webservice, soap, rest and other stuff and it's all new to me. I am comfortable in using excel and vba.
Can anyone point me in the right direction and if possible show me an example where excel gives a xml file to an online calculation, waits for the return xml adnd processes it into the existing excel file.
At this moment I feel lost since I think that there are many ways to accomplish what I want to built but I don't know what to focus on
