I'm trying to compare 2 (column C and column D) columns against each other. What I want to do is highlight my numbers in column D based on the amount they are over that is in column C.

In my example below. If column D is 1 higher then column C how do I highlight that Red? If column D is 4 over column C how do I highlight that Blue? Each difference in number I want to be a different color. I just want to fill the cell.

I'm looking for a quicker way than manually looking for the differences. Thanks in advance for the help.

Col. C Col. D

4 5
4 8
5 7
10 10

Best way to learn Power Query?
Read M is for (Data) Monkey book by Ken Puls and Miguel Escobar. It is the complete guide to Power Query.
You can do that with CF
Select the data in Col D > Home tab > Conditional Formatting > New Rule > Use a formula > =D2=C2+1 > select the format > Ok
Then do the same for =D2=C2+2 etc
If your data does not start in D2 change the cell references to suit
