Highlighting entire column of data based of a date at the top

I have a sheet with dates for the month in a across a row, E17 thru AI17.

Wanting to highlight the data down the column that has todays date in the corresponding column of row E.

I can't figure out the formula in conditional formatting to use for that.

Can you let me know the formula or if that's not possible?

Select the data from E18 AI last row & use this formula
Excel Formula:
=E$17=TODAY()

I apologize my question wasn't explained well...

The dates in the month are in a row across E17 thru AI17.

So for instance G17 is TODAY, so wanting all the cells below G17 to be highlighted. (they are not dates below row 17, just data.

Select E18:AI30000 - or however many rows you have
