I have a spreadsheet of customers but need to select every 6th occurence of a particular product to audit these. Is conditional formatting a way of highlighting, not every 6th item in the table but every 6th occurence relating to a particular product when the table will contain a variety of cases/products?

Excel Facts

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying

yes, and you maybe able to use a formula like
Assuming the product was in A column
countif($A$1:A1,A1) = 6
then it should highlight Just the sixth occurrence - But not the 12th or 18th
