How do I highlight every Total (bold) in yellow, in the excel spreadsheet below, without manually going to each cell in the spreadsheet and changing the fill to yellow?

VHA12SMITHAT Total
VHAV16ADAMSR Total
VHAV16ADKINJ Total
VHAV16AldriM Total

CTRL-F, find what "Total", Find All
CTRL-A, Close the find dialog box
CTRL-1, then the yellow format

If they are actual subtotal rows added using the subtotal feature, you can collapse the outline to only show the totals, select them, then press Alt+; to select just the visible cells (or use the Goto/f5 ... Special option) and then format them as needed.

If you're using my method, select the entire rows before pressing Alt+;

Then either you have something clearing the formatting (eg conditional formatting) or you didn't select the entire rows to start with. Do the entire rows appear selected before you press the button to change the fill?

I suggest you don't then. ;) If it's not a collapsible subtotal setup, use an autofilter then select the rows and use the Alt+; trick.
