Hi,
I have large list of words which are repeating and I would like to make a nice histogram out of it. However, when I try I am not able to do it as it says - input values are not numbers.

I know how to solve this by creating two extra collumns, but I need to link data to the chart, as I am working with external data source. Is it posible to set chart settings somehow to make this happen?

horizontal axis would be names, and vertical occurences of names.

Thanks

Can you AutoAverage in Excel?
There is a drop-down next to the AutoSum symbol. Open the drop-down to choose AVERAGE, COUNT, MAX, or MIN
Id create a pivot chart. Make sure your data has a header. Highlight the column then insert tab, pivot chart.

Is it possible to make it without pivot? I know for this solution, but I wanted static graph which will change values when I change the data...

A pivot is static until you refresh it. Your other solution is to create a list of unique values from your column then do a countif based on the column and said values.
