Hlookup to a formula

Hello people,

I've been searching in this forum but I cannot seem to find any answer,

I know I can use the if() function. but that will mean a long formula string. I'm looking for a way to use hlookup to find a given number within a range. Then do the corresponding formula based on that range the given number is within..

Any Ideas??

Care to give a more complete scenario, including a description of your layout?

I suspect you are looking for:

=VLOOKUP(Target, Range, MATCH(ColHeader, ColRange,0), 0)

but can't be sure ...
