Hi

I wondered if anyone can help with a formula.

I have a formula which works out hours and minutes for me like this in Cell A1: 11:58... 11 hours and 58 minutes.
This is the amount of holiday hours accrued by staff. I want to convert this into days where 1 day = 8 hours...
So this 11:58 will convert to roughly 2.34 days . Anyone know the formula I can insert directly underneath on A2?

Current Format of cell A1 is :[hh]:mm.

The format in A2 will be just General Number format.

Thanks

Hi,
I don't understand how 11:58 converts into 2.34 days when a day = 8 hours at best it's 1.5 days?

Any way. In a spare cell, say F1 type 08:00 and in A2 do =A1/$F$1 = 1.496

Sorry the above 2.34 days is incorrect... it should be around 1.496 days of holiday day

If 1 day = 8 hours, how does 11:58 = 2.34 days?

8 goes into 11:58 only once, so it's 1 day + 3:58
3:58 is almost half of 8 hours (0.496)

So maybe you're looking for 11:58 to be 1.496 ??

Try
=(A1/8)*24
