Hi Guys,
Please help I am pulling my hair out here.
I am creating a small Data base in Access.

My one filed I want to formate it Hours and minutes ( ie 250 hours and 30 min ). I have used [h]:mm, but when i try capture it , its says wrong formate. I want to capture how long it has taken to do something ( hours & mintues ) and not as in time 22H45.

It works in excel [h]:mm but not in access. maybe i have to set something else in access.
Please can you help, thanks
vaughan

Excel Facts

Using Function Arguments with nested formulas
If writing INDEX in Func. Arguments, type MATCH(. Use the mouse to click inside MATCH in the formula bar. Dialog switches to MATCH.
OK, it looks like you will need a different approach. The [h]:mm etc formats allow you to display values over 23:59, but not enter those values. Check Access Help on Number Formats.
So, you will need to enter the values as a decimal and then convert that to time. Alternatively, make it a text field for the data entry. It should be possible to total teh hours or convert them using a query.
