How can I reset the last cell? "Clear All" and deleting rows is not working.

I'm trying to reset my last cell. I use CTRL+End a lot, and when it brings me to blank cells, it drives me crazy. I've tried doing "Clear All" and deleting rows, but nothing seems to work.

I realize that I could copy into a new spreadsheet, but I'm trying to avoid reinventing the wheel: this is a file with ten different tabs and lots of different info on each. I add several hundred rows each month and then start over fresh at the beginning of each month. Usually I just copy the file and then rename it to the current month.

I'm sure there is an easy fix somewhere that Google is just not showing me! (I don't know anything about VBA; I opened it and it looked scary, haha - if I mess around in there, I'll need ELI5 instructions.)

Excel Facts

Using Function Arguments with nested formulas
If writing INDEX in Func. Arguments, type MATCH(. Use the mouse to click inside MATCH in the formula bar. Dialog switches to MATCH.
It sounds like you followed the correct methods of deleting the extra rows and columns.

All you have to do is save the file and close it. <-- this is common and drives me CRAZY!

Upon re-opening, you should be able to do CTRL+End, and it should take you to the last used cell (assuming you deleted the correct rows/columns). Let me know if that worked for you. :)

ASAP Utilities is one of the Recommended Add-ins from the MrExcel moderator. Among the scores of utilities/functions you'll find one named "Reset Excel's last cell" in the Columns & Rows group. Works a treat.
