How come I get #####################

I am getting #####################################

In certain cells where the text is going too long...is there any way to stop this from happening?

Yes I have select wrap text...and it still doesnt work...

If you don't want to change the column width then go to format cells/Alignment and tick the option to "shrink to fit"

The above pertains to numbers that are too long for the column width. Could you post a couple examples if the above is happening with non-numeric data. Good Luck!

I agree with sbendbuckeye, can you post a few examples?

Perhaps Excel thinks you are trying to subtract dates/times and is coming up with a negative value? You shouldn't get pound signs with text. Perhaps the cell is not formatted to General or Text but to something else...

The Text format will display ### if the text is longer than 255 characters. So format the cell as General instead.
