We have 2 files that are linked and one of them has been deleted (some 12 or more months ago and only just realised today). It keeps bringing up the box to look for the file.

Can we remove or delete a link within a file?

Can you sort left to right?
To sort left-to-right, use the Sort dialog box. Click Options. Choose "Sort left to right"
if you have Excel 2002+, you can go to Edit > Links and select Break links. It will change the links to hard-coded values. If you are using an older version of Excel, find the file name and use the Find function (CTRL+F) to search for the name across all sheets and break the links manually. Don't forget to look in Named ranges and charts for rogue links!
