I have combo box that has 16 names to choose from and puts them in a1
I want to make a formula that says if a1=town, then 2, if a1=city then 2 and so forth..16 times. How can I do this?
It isn't quite clear if you want to create the formula on the Excel spreadsheet or in VBA.
If on the Excel sheet, create a lookup table for all of your values and use the VLOOKUP function (check out Excel's help on VLOOKUP for details and examples).
If in VBA, you can use a Select Case statement, for example
Code:
Select Case Range("A1")
Case "town"
Range("B1")=1
Case "city"
Range("B1")=2
...
Case Else
Range("B1")=99
End Select
