I have little red arrows in the top left hand corner of cells.

It's a problem because I can't filter out duplicate entries in a list because of them.

i.e. If cell A1 has APPLE
and cell A2 has APPLE - with that evil red arrow - they are unique so they both remain in the list.............

Thanks in advance.

Excel Facts

How to total the visible cells?
From the first blank cell below a filtered data set, press Alt+=. Instead of SUM, you will get SUBTOTAL(9,)
That little arrow is a "formula error indicator", in other words that error indicates that the formula in that cell has an error.

I think the problem is with your formula/value not the arrow.

you can search the help for "error indicator"... or just indicator to see the other indicators (i.e. cell comment indicator)

Hope that helps...

Thanx Scott

Ahh - I see now. They were links - and when I filtered the link was removed and caused this error. Thx again.

Using Excel XP.

To suppress those annoying error tags, go to the Tools menu | Options | Error Checking tab and remove the tick from “Enable background error checking”.
