Hi, is there a function or property that will give me the column number (e.g. 1) if I provide the column letter (e.g. "A"). TIA

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.

Use

Range("A1).column if you use VBA

=Column(A:A) if you use formula function

Thanks for reply. What I really need is some VBA that returns "1" when I give it "A". For example:

MyNum = Columns("A").Number

Thanks again.

That's what I have given for you

MyNum = Range("A:A").Column will return 1 in variable MyNum
