How do I hide tabs in excel based on a value in another tab?

I have a "master" tab that has a dropdown menu (via a validation list) which will determine what the spreadsheet does. Based on the value selected via this dropdown, I would like to show the relevant tabs and hide the irrelevant tabs. I would prefer for this to happen automatically without a macro. Any ideas? I'm a total noob to VBA, so please talk real slow. :)

Thanks in advance

Waterfall charts in Excel?
Office 365 customers have access to Waterfall charts since late 2016. They were added to Excel 2019.
Sorry, it would have to be a macro.

What are the dropdown entries and relevant sheets to hide/unhide?

i have 3 dropdown items (call it ABC, XYZ, and 123). All three of these items would correspond to 3 different sub sheets I'd like to be shown (call it 1, 2, & 3), so nine sheets in all plus the master. So if ABC is selected in the master sheet dropdown, I'd like ABC1, ABC2, and ABC3 to be visible, but the other 6 sub sheets to be hidden.

Thanks so much for your help!
