How do I put data into a reference table?

What I want to do is make the following raw data display in a table like the one below, however I am not proficient enough at Excel to make that happen myself. Would any of you guys be willing to lend a hand?

I hope my example makes it clear. I would like the data to be represented in table, ideally each name having its own cell inserted (if that's possible) at its reference point. I would also like each person's favourite colour to be added next to their name in the reference table (not for the cell to be coloured in).

I've used silly examples just to make it simple to work with for now. I'd like to attempt to put the real thing together myself eventually. I just need to be pointed in the right direction to begin with.

Thanks very much in advance for any help.

What did Pito Salas invent?
Pito Salas, working for Lotus, popularized what would become to be pivot tables. It was released as Lotus Improv in 1989.
That is going to require a macro. To help, can you specify the ranges the target data is going to be in and where the results should go, + anything else you think might be relevant.

Thank you for the reply.

I'm yet to make the spreadsheet, so I can put the data ranges anywhere. Ideally, I'd like the sorted tabular format to be on another sheet. For the sake of functionality, I'd put names in the A column, the first number in the B column and the 3rd in the C column. My B column data would be for the table's columns and the C for the rows - if that makes sense.

Forget about the extra data for now, those 3 are the most important ones.
