How do i read a Com4 serial port in VB for excel

I an trying to read a device that is connected to my com4 serial port inside VB. Once read, I will format the output in Excel.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to what vba code would be needed in order to open a connecton and read the port?

Most of the information I have found on the web refers to Visual Basic 2005, but I am running Excel 2003 with visual basic 6.3

Excel Facts

Add Bullets to Range
Select range. Press Ctrl+1. On Number tab, choose Custom. Type Alt+7 then space then @ sign (using 7 on numeric keypad)

Follow up question

I am not clear on how to use mscomm32.ocx. It is on my computer but how is this called or added into the vba code?
