How do you do a vlookup on a cell colour?

I have two very long lists, and one of them was created with some of the cells with the background filled in red. I want to do a vlookup to see if an item in the first list shows up in the second list with a red background.

How can I do this?

Thanks!

How to find 2nd largest value in a column?
MAX finds the largest value. =LARGE(A:A,2) will find the second largest. =SMALL(A:A,3) will find the third smallest
Aah, I really wanted to do it in a vlookup. Never mind, thanks very much though, I knew you could look at colours somehow.

JFYI - if you're using Excel 2007 or better, you can filter on cells' colors - just right-click and pick Filter > Filter by Selected Cell's Color from the popup menu. If you're only doing this occasionally and not a lot of it, perhaps it would be sufficient to your needs.

Fortunately we do have 2010, so i ended up sorting by colour and just doing the vlookup on the bit i wanted. Not quite as slick, but it did the job!

I'll have to refine it a bit for next time i think!
