How Many Charecters in a Cell

Hi!

I have a part number in one column and I want to know if it has less than 18 charecters to put AUDIT in my audit column.

Column A Column B
123456789 IF=A1 (has less than 9 charecters), "Audit," ""

If A1 has less than 9 charecters (this is the part I dont know how to do) if true say AUDIT if false leave blank.

HELP! I am so stumped!
