How to add in one worksheet and update it in another workshe

Hi I got a problem today...I have a file with 8 worksheets. In the worksheets from 2 to 8 whenever i update a column which can have 4 possible values like Validate, Not Tested, Tested and Failed, Out of Scope. I have a table in my first worksheet with all the names(rows) to the remaining 7 worksheets. It should count the no. of Validates and update it in my first worksheet in the respective name rows. Hope i'm clear. Please let me know what i have to do...
