Hi, i never used excel before, and im struggling to figure this one thing out:
I get a file with a Column for dates, which comes in a further unsuable format for the system im working with.
When i select the column and change the cell formate to the desired date model, it doesn't do anything at all, when i then double click any cell, it changes instantly to the desired format.
How do i apply the cell formating to the entire column without having to click through like a maniac, please?

Can Excel fill bagel flavors?
You can teach Excel a new custom list. Type the list in cells, File, Options, Advanced, Edit Custom Lists, Import, OK
Try
Highlight column then select
Data>Text to Columns>Next>Next>Select Date & date format>Finish
Thank you, that has indeed worked. I have tried to record it as macro, but that did not work unfortunately... any way to automate this?

You're welcome, not sure if it could be done with VBA! Maybe start a new thread.

The same, I can't test properly as I don't have data to work with

VBA Code:
Sub Macro5()
'
' Macro5 Macro
'

'
    Columns("A:A").Select
    Selection.TextToColumns Destination:=Range("A1"), DataType:=xlDelimited, _
        TextQualifier:=xlDoubleQuote, ConsecutiveDelimiter:=False, Tab:=True, _
        Semicolon:=False, Comma:=False, Space:=False, Other:=False, FieldInfo _
        :=Array(1, 4), TrailingMinusNumbers:=True
End Sub
