How to auto fill a cell based on another cells content…

If column A has multiple animal types, how can I auto fill cells in Column B with a specific word.

For example, if cell A1 says “Dog”. I want cell C1 to say “Los Angeles”. Cell A2 “Cat” = C2 “New York” and so on…

What formula can I use to do this?

If you have more than a few possible values, one way is to make a two column lookup table, and then use a VLOOKUP formula, as shown here:
