How to change text representing Value in a pivot table

I have a pivot table pulling data where one of the pieces of data is the date using this format m/d/yyyy.

This particular piece of data feeds into the Values field of the pivot table. When it does, instead of showing up as 3/1/2023 (m/d/yyyy) it shows up as Sum of 3/1/2023 I want to get rid of the "Sum of" portion. the data is pulling into a chart and I'd prefer not to have the Sum of element there.

I have clicked into PivotTable Analyze and looked at the Active Field and

1. Tried to delete the "Sum Of" portionhat doesn't work
2. Selected "Field Settings" and tried to Customize Name there. That doesn't work.

There's a couple other things I've tried there but nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

Is that data in the Sum box of your Pivot Table?

The data for each month is all in one column, including the top row which has the date

Are there any =SUM formulas in the cells?

No SUM formulas in the are where the Pivot table is pulling from.
