How to color code based on the data in the cell.

I want to turn each line a different color based on the year in one cell.

say line # 10 all the way across has year 101 in it i want that line blue.it will be
1996 to 2011 so it would be a few different colors.

the answer to your question is most likely conditional formatting, but you didn't provide any details about what you want exactly...

okay, so you edited your question in afterwards ...

Which Excel version do you use? Excel 2003 and earlier is limited to 3 conditional formatting conditions... Excel 2007 and later can have more (not sure how many though),
Check the help for conditional formatting, it should get you started...
