How to convert a 2007.xls to 2003 .xls

Hi,

Is it possible to convert a 2007 file into a 2003 file WITHOUT going to Save As- and creating another document?

I want to be able to go straight into the file, and alter the properties to convert it to 2003 - with out creating duplicates.

This is because this is the key source for external lookups.

Unfortunately as each have there own differances and generally ext save as is the only way. at least as far as I know

I think the short answer is "no" 2007 files are completely different from 2003 files they are in fact zip files - see here

The content of these hidden files however is nothing like a 2003 file. Why not write a macro to open a file save it as 2003 and delete the original 2007 version?
