Is there a way to convert a table back to plain text eliminating all the table formatting? That is, eliminate the fill colors, but preserve the number formatting.

I know I can convert it to a normal range by right-clicking in the table and then selecting Table and then Convert to Range, but that preserves all of the table formatting.

I also know that I can select the entire range and remove the fill, but that appears to make the headers disappear. They are actually there, but just coded as white. So I then have to select that row and change the character color to black.

Is there a way to do all that with one action?

Thanks

Ambidextrous Undo
Undo last command with Ctrl+Z or Alt+Backspace. If you use the Undo icon in the QAT, open the drop-down arrow to undo up to 100 steps.
I don't think it can be done in a single button press / format but How about
  1. Select any cell in the Excel table.
  2. Click the Design tab (this is a contextual tab and only appears when you click any cell in the table)
  3. In Table Styles, click on the More icon (the one at the bottom of the small scrollbar.
  4. Click on the Clear option.

Excellent. I would add to your procedure to do that first and then convert the table.
  1. Select any cell in the table.
  2. Click the Table Design tab (this is a contextual tab and only appears when you click any cell in the table)
  3. In Table Styles, click on the More icon (the one at the bottom of the small scrollbar.
  4. Click on the Clear option.
  5. Right-click any cell in the table.
  6. Select Table and then Convert to Range.
Thank you very much!
