How to deselect an object

Hi,

I have a protected spreadsheet with several objects on it that are not locked. I need to select the unlocked objects (one at a time) with the left mouse button, hold the button down to move the object, and then unclick the object after I have moved it.

When I release the left mouse button, the object continues to show that it is selected. Is there a way to deselect the object after I have moved it and released the left mouse button? I can always select another object to remove the focus from the first object, but I'd like to programmatically take the focus off of the object after I move it and release the left mouse button.

I hope this makes sense! Is there any way that I can do this?

Thanks for your help!

Craig

Enter current date or time
Ctrl+: enters current time. Ctrl+; enters current date. Use Ctrl+: Ctrl+; Enter for current date & time.
Press ESC, that helps?

Hi James, thanks for your response. I was hoping to find a way to do it programmatically after I released the left mouse button without having to press the <Esc> key. Any other ideas?

Thanks again,

Craig
