How to do this (pivot tables)

I have a spreadsheet with 3 columns. Itemnumber, quantity and gender.

I put itemnumber in rows, quantity in columns and gender in value, but the outcome looks weird and im not sure i understand the assignment correctly.

The question is

I need to create a pivot table that sorts the data by item number, and quantity per item number. After that, create two separate columns in the pivot table that sort by gender


Can someone help me? Thank you

Do you hate GETPIVOTDATA?
Prevent GETPIVOTDATA. Select inside a PivotTable. In the Analyze tab of the ribbon, open the dropown next to Options and turn it off
Drop Item Number in Rows, Gender in Rows and Quantity in SIGMA
