Hi all,
I have a large database of information for job numbers. The job numbers are listed in column A. Column B contains the date. Column C contains the product and so on. I want to filter this database and only show job numbers that match a list of job numbers on another worksheet. Because of the qty of job numbers, it is not feasable to use the check boxes in autofilter. Any suggestions?

If you start asking yourself if now is a good time to save your Excel workbook, the answer is Yes
Advanced filter is certainly a possibilty.
Prepare the same header in sheet 2 for job numbers

You could use Advanced Filter.
If your data has headers (one unique header per column) and no blank rows between data
And if the list of desired Job Numbers has a matching header.

Use Sheet 2's list of job numbers as the Criteria range. Its important that there be no blank rows in the criteria range. (any blank is interpereted as "Show Everything")

Since they are on different sheets, the sheet with the criteria range needs to be the active sheet when AdvancedFilter is pushed, otherwise a misleading error message appears.

Concerning the active sheet you could try each possibility as far on my computer the active sheet must be the one with the database to filter.
If you want to remove filter and show up all data : Data > Filter > Show All
