I was wondering if someone could help me out with an issue I am having.

I have an spreadsheet with a bunch of data that has been dumped out of a data base. I can't give a lot of details due to the confidentiality of the data, but we will just go with the following.

The data "dump" contains a bunch of information, this information corresponds to a person, each person has a unique "number" assigned to them.

I have a separate list, which has a list of people and their unique number that has been assigned to them.

What I want to be able to do is find only those people in the data dump that appear in the separate list that I have, filtering out the ones that aren't on my list.

What is the quickest way of doing this?

Thanks in advance for your help, and my ignorance if this is simple...

Best,
Troy

Perhaps you could use the Advanced Filter feature.

If you do a web search for something like Excel Advanced Filter tutorial, you'll find several step-by-step guides.
