How to get Excel 2016 from rolling a new number in a cell with a formula?

Not too sure how to describe this, but I'll do my best. I just inserted a formula into a cell in a spreadsheet tonight, and now, when I update one of the numbers, the cell with the "answer" that has the formula in it, rolls the new number down like its a Vegas slot machine. I'm not used to this (not sure if it is the result of a recent update or not), and it grabs my attention. Is there a way to get Excel to simply load the new number automatically, without any rolling effect?

Format cells as currency
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+4 to format cells as currency. (Shift 4 is the $ sign).
Check the box in File > Options > Advanced > Disable Hardware Graphics Acceleration

Thanks, that was the solution.

I tried the solution below, before I realized that there was another solution. If Kenneth's solution also works, I'll switch to that, because I'd like to use global defaults if I can (and just use a solution that involves Excel, the only place I've seen this issue).

Never noticed til you mentioned it.

"In Windows Control Panel, Ease of Access, Ease of Access Centre, Make it easier to focus on tasks, check Turn off all unnecessary animations (when possible)."

The solution dealing with the Excel Options (Disabling hardware graphics acceleration) didn't resolve the issue. But re-applying the Ease of Access solution resolved it again.
