Excel Facts

Formula for Yesterday
Name Manager, New Name. Yesterday =TODAY()-1. OK. Then, use =YESTERDAY in any cell. Tomorrow could be =TODAY()+1.
It is not clear exactly what you are trying to match, or what "qualifies" as a match.
Remember, while your question is familiar to you, we know nothing about it.
Please explain in detail the logic of how this is supposed to work.

Unfortunately, your second description is not any less confusing than your first.
It looks like maybe you are trying to match on the number in between the two "/" in the invoice number, but I cannot tell if you are trying to highlight it, or return a "Y" or "N". It is very unclear and confusing.

But here is code that you can use that will pull the number between the two "/" in your invoice number.
For an invoice number in cell A1, this formula will return that value:
Excel Formula:
=TRIM(MID(SUBSTITUTE(A2,"/",REPT(" ",100)),100,100))
Maybe that will give you the missing piece you need?
