Hello, everyone. I need some help with writing a conditional format or setting a rule for highlighting dates (Year-Month-Day format) with a set color when they are passed. For instance, the last due date for sending in applications is today and tomorrow the enitre row with relevant information (including the date) would be highlighten with color. The table is being filled continously and I would love to have this feature to not to miss these due dates. The column with dates begins at J3, the corresponding raw spans from A3 to M3 and so on.

Tried: Condition formatting - Using formula - TODAY()>=0 and it didn't quite work for highlighting rows that contain aready passed due dates.

Is there a way for achieving the desired outcome?

Excel Facts

Fastest way to copy a worksheet?
Hold down the Ctrl key while dragging tab for Sheet1 to the right. Excel will make a copy of the worksheet.
How about
Excel Formula:
=$J3<Today()

How about

=$J3<Today()
Thank you for the suggestion.

Forgot to mention that there is text next to each date. It looks like this 'Competition until Year-Month-Day' in every cell of column J. Could this impact the results?

Yes, because your dates are text & not dates, can you post some sample data.

MrExcel has a tool called “XL2BB” that lets you post samples of your data that will allow us to copy/paste it to our Excel spreadsheets, so we can work with the same copy of data that you are. Instructions on using this tool can be found here: XL2BB Add-in

Note that there is also a "Test Here” forum on this board. This is a place where you can test using this tool (or any other posting techniques that you want to test) before trying to use those tools in your actual posts.

Also what version of Excel are you using?

I suggest that you update your Account details (or click your user name at the top right of the forum) so helpers always know what Excel version(s) & platform(s) you are using as the best solution often varies by version. (Don’t forget to scroll down & ‘Save’)

Thank you. The account information has been updated. I can try sharing the data sample sometime soon.
