I have cells in the following way. in each row.

abcd
efgh
a
dfg
erft
vkldfsdas

Now I want to insert some value say XXXXX at the first and last postion(More specifically at a perticular position) in the text). How can I do it?

The end result should be

XXXXX abcdXXXXX
XXXXX efghXXXXX
XXXXX aXXXXX
XXXXX dfgXXXXX
XXXXX erftXXXXX
XXXXX vkldfsdasXXXXX

but that replacements in the adjacent cells are not permanent. You can make them permanent by copying the cells in column B to column A permanently.

How can you do it? I dont think it is possible.

Excel Facts

Create a Pivot Table on a Map
If your data has zip codes, postal codes, or city names, select the data and use Insert, 3D Map. (Found to right of chart icons).
I dont think we can make the changes permanent by removing the references.
As per your above post,When you copy B column to A column, it will not be permanenet as you mentioned.
