Hi

I have both excel 2003 and 2007 installed on my computer. Excel 2007 became the default when I installed it. That was until about an hour ago when it suddenly changed and now excel 2003 is the default.

Does anybody know how I change this back to have all excel files open with excel 2007 as the default ?

Thanks

JVN

When did Power Query debut in Excel?
Although it was an add-in in Excel 2010 & Excel 2013, Power Query became a part of Excel in 2016, in Data, Get & Transform Data.
Start-Run, enter:
Code:
"C:\Program Files\microsoft office\office12\excel.exe" /regserver
(adjusting path if required) and press enter. That should reset the registry entries.

I tried that . . . But it did not work.

Then you may need to go into the File Types tab in Tools-Folder Options in explorer and change the settings for all the .xl* file types manually, so they open with version 12.

Thanks Rorya

Changing the "Opens with" Option worked
