How to make Excel 2011:Mac Launch Faster?

I've tried the trick of removing any duplicate or corrupted fonts. Are there any other steps I can take to make Excel 2011 for Mac launch faster?

I recall there used to be an "Office Helper" or some program that was set to launch on computer startup and run in the background, but that was years ago and could have been on a PC. When I checked my Login Items there is no such helper listed.

Thanks in advance for any tips or tricks.

Hi,
how long does it take to launch?
when it opens does it open on the last saved files? or the excel gallery?
what are the specs of your mac?

Excel 2011 stays in RAM once it has opened since the last system boot. If the memory range has not been overwritten, it should open instantly. You could make a workbook that has an Auto_Close() macro that simply closes the workbook. Add this workbook to the login items on the user account.
