I want to find out how many of my company's customers are in the Fortune 500. I have both lists, but am not sure how to compare them. Also, how would I handle common words like "the" or "of?" I guess I could do an exact match, but then I might miss close matches, for example, we might have a company listed as "Home Depot", but it's official listing name is "The Home Depot."

Any help appreciated! The simpler the better.

As long as the names you have listed are found anywhere in the official listing name, then it can be easily done. Problems arise when you have a named listed such as "Home Depot" but the official listing has it as "Home Dpt". If the official listing has it as "The Home Depot" the match could be done because the listed name (in red) is fully and exactly contained in the official name.
