Hi all,
I have 6 locations (LOC1,LOC2,LOC3,....), 10 destinations (DEST1,DEST2,DEST3,.....) and 8 items (ITEM1,ITEM2, ITEM3,...). To
release ANY item from ANY location to ANY destination separate "Release Orders" (R.O) are used. The list of all R.O goes to above
550 lines which makes finding a R.O really time consuming. Any ideas to prepare a table or any method to retrieve a specific RO
fulfilling three criteria (Location, Destination and Item) is most welcome.
TIA,
Shaju

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.
Hi there.

I don't think there's enough information provided, but assuming your locations, destinations and items are separate columns in your list, you could create an additional column which concatenates all 3 individual columns. This could then be used in a variety of ways to quickly find the combination you are after. Alternatively, why not filter the columns and select the relevant data from each of the 3 columns. If they are not in separate columns, please provide a small sample so that we can work out something for you.

Thanks a lot John for looking into this matter and suggesting a good solution. As of now I will go with the filter method you suggested. But will come back again with the sample of my problem to know how it can be solved using the concatenating method.
