How to prevent a window from closing full screen

I know this has been posted before and I found some of the answers but none of them worked in my situation. I'm hoping someone has ran into this before and knows what to do. I have an excel workbook which always opens in full screen mode. But if I minimize the window and then maximize it again, the tool bar ribbon along the top shows - full screen mode has closed. I have 12 other worksheets which are all hidden. If I unhide one and toggle to it I have code which goes back to full screen. But if I minimize the window and maximize it again - full screen is closed again! I'd like the users to be able to minimize the window but when the open it back up I want it to open back up in full screen mode. Again, I have found suggestions from older posts but none of them work for me - the workbook just ignores it and closes full screen.
