Hi,

As we are automating manual process of copy and paste from xls to powerpoint using vba code, we notice that the powerpoint file (pptm) size is increased 6 fold.

The original power point file is in .pptx with a file size of 4MB. The file size for the powerpoint file created with the vba code is 6 times greater, about 25 MB.

The file needs to be sent as an attachment via e-mail and we want to know how to reduce the file size. We tried saving as a .pptx but the size did not change.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your help. <!-- google_ad_section_end --><!-- / message -->

Excel Facts

What do {} around a formula in the formula bar mean?
{Formula} means the formula was entered using Ctrl+Shift+Enter signifying an old-style array formula.
I suspect you will have to compact the images within the presentation. Do you still have a version of PowerPoint (2003 or earlier), where you can record a Macro to open a presentation then select one of the images and then compact it, but select all images in the options, this will give you the code.

The same as I did for you late last night to help you out on your previous thread about automating and closing.

Thanks for helping out. I really appreciate it.

Yes we have version 2003. I tried saving as 2003(ppt) but will now use the record macro and your code to compact the images so I can check the source code that is generated.

I tried using winzip but that did not help much .

Thanks
