I am facing problems regarding errors while entering data and other entities into excel sheets. Excel sheets accept all the values entered by default; be it a right value or a wrong one which results into inconsistencies and irregularities in the sheets. In order to cope-up with such issues we have to need to first check every value keenly and then entering them. Is there any way by which we can automatically validate the data beforehand.

Kindly suggest some ways by which the efficiency of the work can be better-mined and enhance also explain the procedures for automating data validation process.

Excel allows any value because it doesn't know what would be a wrong value or a correct value. You can set Excel to only allow Whole Numbers, restrict the text length, or even make it a dropdown list from a pre-defined list stored elsewhere in your workbook.

Do you have an example?

If the data to be entered is in a single cell and has a range of values that are valid, then you can set up data validation for those cells and restrict the values to either a list or a range.
