hi there

I am trying to find a way of showing when a particular cell was last altered. . . Preferably this would show on a mouseover of that particular cell..

Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

Andy

Excel Facts

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
Right click the sheet tab, select View Code and paste in

Rich (BB code):
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)
If Target.Address(False, False) = "A1" Then
    Target.NoteText Text:=Format(Now, "dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm")
    Application.DisplayCommentIndicator = xlCommentIndicatorOnly
End If
End Sub

Change A1 to suit.

It works for me.

- macros must be enabled
- the code goes in the sheet's code module
- change A1 to the cell that you want to monitor.

How ingenious!

Only thought from me is that the cell address must use a capital letter ie 'd1' didn't work 'D1' did.

Thanks VoG.
