Hello!

I have a question about sorting on the basis of date in Excel.

I have about 10 columns of data and one column contains the dates. I now wish to sort the rows on the basis of dates, and the other nine columns have to stick with their original dates.

When I just use the sort-> ascending, all it does it sort the column that contains the dates, and completely ignores the other nine columns, causing unmatched columns and dates.

How do I do this?

Thanks,

Thomas

Does the VLOOKUP table have to be sorted?
No! when you are using an exact match, the VLOOKUP table can be in any order. Best-selling items at the top is actually the best.

Make sure you select the entire range that you want to be covered by the sort. So if your data is in columns A1:J15, select this entire range before performing your sort.
