How to successfully delete formula dependent columns

Hi!

I am having trouble with cleaning up my data after running analysis on my excel files. I have an excel file where I had to separate a "Name" column into "First" & "Last" name columns. I did this successfully, but now I want to delete the original "Name" column, but I am having trouble figuring out how to do this correctly. I tried turning the "Calculations" to manual, but when I saved the file, the formulas were re-calculated & turned the data into error msgs. I'd like to delete the old data files as I would like to export the file into our CRM system with the corrected information/formatting.

I am having similar trouble with another excel file with more advanced "VLOOKUPs" and "IF" formulas.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Best!
Yuliya

Hi Datamaster,
The easiest way I can think of doing this if it is a one off is to copy the new data and then paste special as values into the same place. The data will be saved and the old data can be removed.
I recommend saving a back up prior to doing this so you can go back if the results are not as you want or expect.
I hope this helps
Mick.
