Hi,
I'm new in this forum and I'm French, so please pardon my English... I have a question for everybody. Is it possible to update links to a file already close? Explanation: I have big budget files (4 or 5) link together and I'm updating file number 1. File #1 update file #2 and File #2 update File #3. Now if I open file #3 this file is not updated because I did not open the file #2 (sorry it's confusing). So, can file number 2 be updated without opening it? All this files are between 20MB to 50MB and are on the server. I can't open all of them at the same time in my workstation without craching my computer. So i'm trying to find a work around.
Thanks for any help.

Will the fill handle fill 1, 2, 3?
Yes! Type 1 in a cell. Hold down Ctrl while you drag the fill handle.
Hi
To my knowledge the link can not be updated when the source file is closed. But you can can write a simple macro in Worksheet_Change Event to open the source file and then close it. This will update the linked cell.
