I copied information from one workbook to another. Automatic links attached to the original workbook were carried over to the new workbook, and now when I open the new workbook, Excel asks if I want to update the automatic links.

I don't need the automatic links and would like to find out how to get rid of them.

Thanks.

Do you hate GETPIVOTDATA?
Prevent GETPIVOTDATA. Select inside a PivotTable. In the Analyze tab of the ribbon, open the dropown next to Options and turn it off
try searching for .xls with the find tool,

this should point you to your links so you can kill'em.

Corticus

Go to (on the menue bar) Edit-Links...now select change source...
select any .xls file..this changes the link from the original file...now select change source again and this time select your current file.

hope this helps
