Hyperlink problem within excel document.

I have a weird problem that probably has a very simple answer. I am trying to make a hyperlink that points to a location on a different sheet within the same document. The original formula I created looked like this...

"=HYPERLINK(INDIRECT(VLOOKUP(C3,C13:D15,2,FALSE)),C3)"

It kept coming up with the error, "Cannot open the specified file". So I tried to make it simple, "=HYPERLINK(D16,D16)" which just points to the next cell over and it still comes up with the same error. What am I doing wrong? When I do the Insert, Hyperlink option it will work fine, but I can't do that with the code I'm trying to use (with the vlookup). Let me know if you need more info. I'm using Excel 2007. Thanks.

The HYPERLINK function requires the workbook, worksheet and range references, eg:

=HYPERLINK("[BOOK4.xls]Sheet2!A1")

I knew it was something simple. I tried it like that but forgot the "xlsx" part. Thanks a lot for your help.
