Hyperlink question - referencing sheet in same file - still

Must I put the filename in a hyperlink even if its only referencing a different sheet in the same file?

If the file is renamed then the hyperlink does not work.

Is the solution to write an event macro that identifies the active-filename and re-writes the hyperlinks?

Thx, Egad

Excel Facts

Test for Multiple Conditions in IF?
Use AND(test, test, test, test) or OR(test, test, test, ...) as the logical_test argument of IF.
If it's just a plain, normal hyperlink, I don't think you would have a problem with referencing a sheet as long as it is in that particular workbook.

The sheet names chaging, however, would have the same effect as renaming the file and putting the workbook name in the link.
(does that make sense?)

Hope it helps,

Thx, Kristy, I can't get the hyperlink to work unless I insert the filename. Unless there is a work-around I thinl I'll need a macro to update the current filename.
